hoops, anyone?

Sorry for the absence of blog posts this week. Work has been hectic, and when I get home, all I want to do is crawl into bed with my Daisy pillow. We did manage to get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Went to the playground and chased around the basketball.

This week was eventful for Daisy as well. Went to the vet for her third round of shots. We also started her heartworm preventative. The vet gave us Revolution-- the topical kind, which was new to me as my other dogs had the chewable tablets.

She finished her antibiotics for kennel cough and thankfully is sounding much better. No more hacking in the middle of the night.

I'm anxious for her to have her last round of shots so she can start meeting other dogs. I'm going to take her to the North Jersey dachshund meetup at the end of March.

Two of my coworkers have new puppies around her age, and even though they are bigger breeds than her, I hope she will get a chance to have playdates.

Another to-do list item for after her last round of shots... Puppy Kindergarten! Daisy is so smart. She sits already (and sometimes stays), but we're having trouble with down, shake, etc...

Do other dachshund owners do "roll over" with their dogs? My parents trained my first dachshund to roll over, but I worry that it might hurt her back.
